Israel taxi fare calculator (official meter tariff)
The official meter, worked out before you ride.
The calculator estimates what a taxi meter would show for your trip under the Ministry of Transport tariff in force since 1 April 2026. Choose where from, where to and when, add passengers and bags, then leave your name and phone to see the result as a range. The meter is dynamic, so the final amount moves with traffic and the route taken. If you would rather know the price before you go, we come back to you with a fixed one.

How an Israeli taxi meter works
A metered taxi ride in Israel is priced by a price-control order signed by the Ministers of Finance and Transport. The meter starts at a fixed initial charge, then counts distance and time together at the rate of the tariff in force at that hour. Beyond the first 10 km, each kilometre is charged at a higher rate, which is why long intercity trips cost noticeably more per kilometre than rides across town.
Tariffs A, B and C have applied since May 2020, when they replaced the old day and night tariffs. The amendment in force since 1 April 2026 set new rates and added the higher rate for each kilometre beyond the first 10. Its rates are transitional until 31 March 2027; after that the order’s base rates apply, updated each April by the formula the order sets.
Which tariff applies when
Times are Israel time. A tariff day runs from 06:00 to 05:59 the next morning, so the small hours belong to the previous day.
| Day | Tariff A | Tariff B | Tariff C |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunday to Wednesday | 06:00–21:00 | 21:01–05:59 | — |
| Thursday | 06:00–21:00 | 21:01–23:00 | 23:01–05:59 |
| Friday and the eve of a holiday | 06:00–16:00 | 16:01–21:00 | 21:01–05:59 |
| Saturday and holidays | — | 06:00–19:00 | 19:01–05:59 |
Official supplements the meter can add
The calculator adds these for you, based on your route and where it starts.
- Ordering a taxi
A supplement for a taxi ordered by phone or app to your address. The calculator always includes it, as for any taxi booked in advance.
- Starting at Ben Gurion Airport
A fixed airport supplement for rides that begin there.
- Starting at Haifa or Ramon airport
A smaller supplement for rides from those two airports.
- Road 6
The toll, for the full road or for section 18 only, when the route uses it.
- Carmel Tunnels
The toll for one or both sections, when the route goes through them.
- Waiting
Waiting you ask for along the way, charged per hour and pro rata by tariff. The calculator adds it when you include a stop.
Why our fixed price is different
The meter result is an estimate. The final metered amount depends on the traffic you meet, the exact route and any waiting on the way. With us, the price is set before the ride and stays the same as long as the route, stops and waiting stay as agreed.
When you see your estimate, the station has your trip details too, and we get back to you with a fixed price. The rules are in our pricing policy.

Questions and answers
Is the calculator result the price I will pay?
No. It estimates the official meter, which changes with traffic and the route. A fixed price from us is agreed before the ride and does not move.
Why do you ask for my phone before showing the result?
So the station can come back to you with a fixed price for the same trip. The details reach us like a booking request.
Does the estimate include Road 6 and the Carmel Tunnels?
Yes, when the calculated route uses them, the calculator adds the official toll supplement automatically, as if you had asked for that route. On a real metered ride the supplement applies when the ride uses the toll road at the passenger’s request.
Why does the result show a range?
Because the meter counts time as well as distance. The same trip costs more in slow traffic, so a single figure would mislead.
Does it work for rides that do not involve the airport?
Yes. Pick any two places in the list. For airport rides, our Ben Gurion Airport taxi page explains the fixed-price option.
