Wheelchair-accessible taxi with a lift

The chair rolls onto the lift, and the passenger stays in it until the destination.

For passengers who use a wheelchair we have a vehicle with a lift, so you board without leaving the chair. It goes out by advance arrangement, and booking a day ahead makes it easier to get the time you want. It serves Ben Gurion Airport in both directions and rides anywhere in Israel. When you book, tell us whether the chair is manual or powered, how large it is, whether it folds and whether the passenger can move to a car seat.

How boarding with the lift works

The lift is a platform that lowers to the ground. The wheelchair rolls onto it, and the platform raises it to the floor of the vehicle. The passenger never has to move to a seat, and nobody has to lift them or fold the chair.

If the passenger can move to a car seat on their own and the chair folds, an ordinary taxi or an estate car may be enough. Tell us how the passenger travels, and we match the vehicle to it.

What to tell us when you book

In the online booking form, tick “Accessible vehicle with a lift” at the “Who’s travelling” step, or write the same in a WhatsApp message. Then add these details.

  1. The type of chair

Manual or powered. If it is wide or heavy, send its measurements.

  2. Folding or rigid

Whether the chair folds, and whether the passenger stays in it for the ride or moves to a seat.

  3. Who travels along

How many companions come with the passenger, so there is room for everyone.

  4. The way to the vehicle

Steps, a ramp or a lift at the building, and at the destination the entrance you need.

  5. The ride back

If you need a return ride, give an approximate time, or message us when you are ready.

Arriving at or leaving from Ben Gurion Airport

The accessible vehicle drives to Ben Gurion Airport and collects arriving passengers. Give us the flight number when you book. The driver follows the flight and, once you are through the arrival process, contacts you by phone or WhatsApp to arrange where you meet. The steps from the aircraft to the exit are in our Terminal 3 arrival guide, and everything else about airport rides is on the Ben Gurion Airport taxi page.

Inside the terminal, help is the airline’s job. According to the Israel Airports Authority, Israeli law makes the airline responsible for passengers who need assistance from the moment they enter the terminal or leave the aircraft, and ground handling companies provide it. Tell your airline in advance, including if you want to use your own wheelchair; an electric buggy also takes arriving passengers who need help from the aircraft. Details are on the airport’s accessibility page (opens in a new tab).

Questions and answers

Can you take a powered wheelchair?

Tell us the type of chair and its measurements, and we check that it fits the vehicle before the ride.

Can a companion travel with the passenger?

Yes. Write how many companions are coming so there is room for everyone.

I need the vehicle with a lift today. Is that possible?

Call us and we check whether it is free at the time you need. To be sure of it, book a day ahead.

Is the accessible taxi available for airport pickups?

Yes, in both directions. For a landing, give the flight number and we follow the flight so the vehicle comes for the actual landing time.

The passenger uses a walker, not a wheelchair. Do we need the lift?

If the passenger can sit in a car seat, usually not. Mention the walker in the booking and we send a vehicle with room for it.

Can I book the accessible vehicle for Saturday?

Not during Shabbat, when our station is closed. We drive right up to the start of Shabbat and again once it ends; see rides before and after Shabbat.
