Jerusalem is about 50 km from Ben Gurion Airport, almost all of it on Road 1 as it climbs into the Judean Hills. We take you to your hotel or home anywhere in the city, or to the Old City gate closest to where you are going, at a fixed price set before you land. The driver follows your flight. Landing on a Friday? Shabbat starts earlier in Jerusalem than on the coast, so send us your landing time early.

Up Road 1 to the city
From the airport, Road 1 heads east across the coastal plain, passes Latrun and enters the hills at Sha’ar HaGai. It then climbs past Mevaseret Zion and Motza and reaches the city entrance by the Chords Bridge, next to the Central Bus Station. From there the driver turns towards your neighbourhood.
Most rides stay on Road 1 the whole way. If you need to stop on the way, for example to collect someone in Modi’in or Beit Shemesh, add the stop when you book, since it changes the price.
The Old City: which gate to ask for
Inside the walls most lanes are footpaths, so for most destinations the taxi stops at a gate. Tell us where you are staying and we pick the right one with you.
- Jaffa Gate
On the western wall, next to the Tower of David and across the road from Mamilla. The square inside leads to the Christian, Armenian and Muslim Quarters. Cars can enter through the opening beside the gate, so some Old City hotels can be reached by car.
- Zion Gate
On the southern wall, by Mount Zion. It opens into the Armenian and Jewish Quarters.
- Dung Gate
The gate buses use for the Western Wall plaza. Ask for it if you are heading straight to the Kotel.
- Damascus Gate
On the northern wall, opening into the Muslim Quarter and the markets.

Residential neighbourhoods in the north and west of the city.
Meeting your driver at the airport
Give us the flight number when you book. The driver follows the flight and, once you are through border control and have your bags, contacts you by phone or WhatsApp to arrange where you meet. Groups visiting Jerusalem often travel with a lot of luggage; a large taxi or, for a full group, a minibus or a coach from our range of services keeps everyone in one vehicle. Which gate should we use for the Western Wall?
Dung Gate is the gate buses and cars use for the Western Wall plaza. If you are staying in the Jewish Quarter, Zion Gate may be closer to your door.
I land on Friday afternoon. Can I still get to Jerusalem?
If the ride can reach Jerusalem before Shabbat begins, yes. Send us the landing time and we tell you whether it works, or plan the ride for Saturday night instead.
Can we go to the hotel and continue to the Dead Sea another day?
