Taxi from Ben Gurion Airport to Beit Shemesh

Updated

Book before you fly, and your children’s car seats come with the car.

Beit Shemesh is about 47 km from Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). The route runs east on Road 1 towards Jerusalem as far as the Sha’ar HaGai interchange, then south on Route 38 into the city. Bazman Taxi drives to any address in Beit Shemesh and Ramat Beit Shemesh, from Givat Sharett and Sheinfeld in the old town to RBS Aleph, Gimmel and Daled, at a fixed price set before you land. The driver follows your flight, and child seats for every age come with the car.

Ramat Beit Shemesh and the rest of the city

Give the street and house number and, in Ramat Beit Shemesh, the section too. “Gimmel 1” or “Daled 3” next to the street name takes the driver straight to the right building.

  • RBS Aleph

Dolev, Revivim, Mishkenos Yaakov and Ramat Shilo, with Mishkafayim on the eastern edge of Aleph.

  • RBS Bet and Gimmel

Bet lies between the old town and Aleph. Gimmel 1 (Kiryat Avi Ezri) and Gimmel 2 (Kiryat Ovadia) sit just south of Aleph, above Nachal Yarmut Park.

  • RBS Daled and Hey

The newer sections: the Daled neighbourhoods and Neve Shamir in Hey.

  • Old Beit Shemesh

Givat Sharett, Sheinfeld, Nofei Aviv, Nahala U’Menucha and Migdal HaMayim, north of Ramat Beit Shemesh.

  • The station and the malls

Beit Shemesh railway station and the BIG Fashion mall in the northern industrial zone, with the Shaarei Hair mall close by.

Road 1 east, then Route 38 south

From the airport the driver takes Road 1 east, the main road to Jerusalem, past the Ben Shemen and Latrun interchanges. At Sha’ar HaGai, where Road 1 starts to climb into the hills, the route leaves it for Route 38 and heads south past Mesilat Zion and the Shimshon interchange by Eshtaol into Beit Shemesh. That is about 47 km in all, with no toll road on the usual route.

The stretch of Route 38 between Sha’ar HaGai and Beit Shemesh was rebuilt as a dual carriageway, two lanes each way, and opened in 2017. For the old town the driver turns off Route 38 at one of the town entrances. For the southern parts of Ramat Beit Shemesh, Route 38 carries on to the Ramat Beit Shemesh interchange, opened in 2020 to link those neighbourhoods to the road.

  1. Book with the details

The flight number, the landing time and your address with the RBS section, plus how many passengers, large suitcases and trolley bags are travelling. Add each child’s age if you need car seats.

  2. We follow the flight

If the plane lands early or late, the pickup moves with it.

  3. Meet your driver

Once you are through passport control and have your bags, the driver calls you or sends a WhatsApp message to agree where to meet. Our Terminal 3 arrivals guide walks you from the aircraft to the exit.

  4. Home

Road 1, Sha’ar HaGai, Route 38 and on to your street.

Car seats, strollers and a lot of luggage

  • Child seats for every age

An infant carrier, a child seat or a booster comes with the car. Write each child’s age in the booking. More on our child seat taxi page, and the rules for children in taxis in our guide to car seats in Israel.

  • A big family or a lot of bags

List the large suitcases, trolley bags, strollers and travel cots. When it will not all fit in a regular taxi, we send a large taxi, a minibus or a coach, and agree the vehicle with you by phone.

  • A wheelchair user in the family

A vehicle with a lift, booked in advance, ideally a day before the flight. See the wheelchair accessible taxi.

Landing close to Shabbat, or after it

We work 24 hours a day from Sunday to Friday and keep Shabbat, so there are no rides from candle lighting until Shabbat ends. If you land on a Friday, the ride has to reach Beit Shemesh before Shabbat comes in, so send us the landing time as soon as you have it. If your family brings in Shabbat earlier than the time on the card above, write your own time in the booking and we tell you whether the ride home can get you there before then.

For a Motzei Shabbat landing, book before Shabbat with the flight number, and the taxi sets out once Shabbat is over. Yom Tov works the same way, with no rides from candle lighting on Erev Yom Tov until the festival ends. More on rides around Shabbat and the holidays.

Back to the airport from Beit Shemesh

Book the ride to the airport with your flight time; the price for this direction is also set before the ride. The Israel Airports Authority asks passengers to arrive three hours before an international flight, and we set the pickup at your door around that. Road 1 west of Sha’ar HaGai also carries the traffic coming down from Jerusalem and is usually busier on weekday mornings, so leave some margin for a morning flight. Our Terminal 3 departures guide covers the way from the drop-off to the gate.

Fixed price for the ride

The fixed price depends on the address, the direction, the time and the vehicle, and we send it to you on WhatsApp before the ride. Traffic on the way does not change it. For an estimate on the official tariff, use the meter calculator; the rules are in our pricing policy.

Questions and answers

How much is a taxi from Ben Gurion Airport to Beit Shemesh?

We give you a fixed price for your address, whether in the old town or an RBS section, together with the landing time and the vehicle, on WhatsApp before you fly. Road 1 and Route 38 have no toll on the usual route. For the official meter estimate on these 47 km, use the calculator on this page.

Do you go to every part of RBS, including Daled and Hey?

Yes, all of Ramat Beit Shemesh from Aleph to Hey, plus Ramat Shilo and Mishkafayim. Put the section next to the street name so the driver heads straight for the right building.

Does the ride go through Jerusalem?

No. Route 38 meets Road 1 at Sha’ar HaGai, west of Jerusalem and before the climb to the city. If you are heading to Jerusalem itself, see our Jerusalem airport taxi page.

We land on Erev Shabbat. Will we make it home before Shabbat?

That depends on the landing time and on when Shabbat begins that week. Send the flight number when you book and we tell you whether the ride can reach Beit Shemesh in time. If it cannot, we arrange the pickup for Motzei Shabbat instead.

Can I book the airport pickup for my parents coming to visit us in Beit Shemesh?

Yes. Give their names, their flight number, your address and a phone number they can use in Israel for a call or WhatsApp. The driver follows the flight and contacts them once they have their bags.

Can you collect us in Beit Shemesh for a very early flight?

Yes. We work 24 hours a day from Sunday to Friday and close only for Shabbat and Yom Tov, so a weekday pickup in the middle of the night is fine. We set the time with you around the airport’s three-hour advice.

Do you also drive to Eshtaol, Mesilat Zion and the villages nearby?

Yes, we drive to any address in Israel. Choose the village itself as the destination when you book.
