Ben Gurion Airport to Tel Aviv: train, bus, app or pre-booked taxi

What the train, bus 445, the ride-hailing apps and a pre-booked taxi each mean when you land with luggage.
The cheapest way from Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) to Tel Aviv, about 23 km away, is public transport: the train from the station under Terminal 3 to four Tel Aviv stations, or bus 445 to the city centre. Neither runs on Shabbat. Gett and Yango send licensed taxis if your phone has mobile data. A taxi booked with us goes from the terminal to your door at a price fixed before the ride, and the driver follows your flight.
Four ways into Tel Aviv, compared
Shared taxis are left out because the official price order has no airport line to Tel Aviv; the sherut section below explains.

Taking the train into Tel Aviv
Ben Gurion Airport station is on the lower level of Terminal 3, reached by lifts and escalators, and according to the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality trains towards Tel Aviv usually leave from platform 1. The municipality lists four Tel Aviv stations for the airport train, all built in the middle of the Ayalon Highway: HaHagana in the south of the city, near the Central Bus Station; HaShalom, linked by a bridge to the Azrieli Center and a light rail station; Savidor Center at the Arlozorov interchange, also next to the light rail; and University, by Tel Aviv University and Expo Tel Aviv. The seafront hotels are further west, so if you are staying by the sea you still need a bus, the light rail or a taxi for the last stretch.
On most weeknights two lines through the airport keep running all night: Herzliya–Tel Aviv–airport–Jerusalem, and since 31 May 2026 also Modi’in–airport–Tel Aviv–Nahariya, both at about one train an hour and not at weekends. After midnight the trains stop in Tel Aviv only at HaHagana and Savidor Center. Night timetables are not the same on every night, so look up the night you land on the Israel Railways site (opens in a new tab) or in the national route planner (opens in a new tab).
From Friday afternoon until Saturday evening there are no trains, and none on Jewish holidays either. For everyday times the municipality points visitors to the Israel Railways app for trains and to Moovit for buses.
Bus 445 to the city centre
Bus 445 leaves from level 2 of Terminal 3, at exit 21, and runs into central Tel Aviv with stops along Dizengoff, Bograshov, HaYarkon and Ben Yehuda streets, close to many of the seafront hotels. The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality describes it as running about once an hour, and not on Shabbat, from Friday evening until Saturday evening. It suits a traveller with a backpack or a single case who is staying near those streets. Find the stop closest to your address in the route planner before you fly.
Sherut, Gett and Yango
- Shared taxi (sherut)
The Ministry of Transport’s 2026 taxi price order (Hebrew) (opens in a new tab) sets shared-taxi lines from the airport to Jerusalem, Mevaseret Zion, Ma’ale Adumim, Haifa, Acre and the Krayot, and Nahariya. It lists no line from the airport to Tel Aviv, so for Tel Aviv the public options are the train and bus 445.
- Gett and Yango
Both apps send licensed taxis, because Israeli law lets only taxi owners licensed by the Ministry of Transport take paying passengers. Install the app and register while you are still at home, and arrange roaming or a local eSIM, since the app needs mobile data the moment you land. The price shown depends on the ride type you pick. Booking a taxi with us into Tel Aviv
A taxi booked ahead takes you from the terminal to the entrance of your building or hotel, with the suitcases in the boot. It costs more than the train or the bus, most of all for one person travelling light.

If the plane lands early or late, the pickup moves with it.
- Meet after customs

Questions and answers
Is public transport cheaper than a taxi into Tel Aviv?
Yes. The train from the station under Terminal 3 and bus 445 to the city centre both charge official public transport fares, and a taxi costs more. Neither the train nor the bus runs on Shabbat, and you carry your bags from the station or the stop to where you are staying.
Is there a train at night?
On most weeknights, yes, at about one train an hour, and after midnight the trains stop in Tel Aviv only at HaHagana and Savidor Center. None run from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening, and the night timetable is not the same every night, so check the night you land on the Israel Railways site.
Does the train run on Saturday?
Not until Shabbat ends. The last trains leave on Friday afternoon and service starts again on Saturday evening; the hour shifts with the season, because Shabbat ends later in summer.

Does bus 445 stop near the seafront hotels?
It runs along HaYarkon and Ben Yehuda streets, where many of the seafront hotels are, as well as Dizengoff and Bograshov. Look up the stop nearest your hotel in the national route planner (opens in a new tab) before you fly.
