How long is the drive up to Jerusalem?
Plan on about an hour of driving for the 65 km, almost all of it on Highway 1. The road climbs steadily from sea level to roughly 800 metres as it approaches the city, and the final stretch at the entrance to Jerusalem is the one place that slows during weekday rush hours and on Sunday mornings when the whole country is back on the move.
